Guess who got to hang out with Felicia Day and teach her how to yo-yo? That’s right… me! It was such a great experience spending an afternoon with “Codex” from The Guild. We hung out, threw yo-yos, and talked about computer games that we love like Guild Wars, Diablo, and Skyrim. Special Thanks to Felicia aka F-Bomb for inviting me onto your show!
If you’re visiting theglasslab.com for the first time and want to check out more yo-yoing, click on the Videos section on the top menu or you can also browse my videos on YouTube and Vimeo. If you’d like to hang out and learn how to yo-yo in Southern California, please visit the Events page at the top of the website for more information.
The Duncan Freehand 2 yo-yo which Felicia uses in the episode is being auctioned off on e-bay with all proceeds being donated to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. Please click here to check out the auction and support a great cause!
Lastly, I’d like to thank Duncan Toys for being such a great company and for being my sponsor for the last decade. All yo-yos being thrown in this episode of The Flog are Duncans! If you’re looking to buy a yo-yo, please check out their website and support them!
Here’s a new video I put together for Ernie at General-Yo. The yo-yo being used in the video is the new KLR. Pick one up when they’re available. It’s a big departure from the traditional General-Yo shape and I think Ernie and his team (Lee and Reed) did a great job on it.
Jason Lee shows us once again why he holds a National Trick Innovator of the Year title. Jason is one of the most creative minds in yo-yoing. It was great to be able to get together with him and put together another video like we’ve been doing since 2000. It’s been about 3 years since Jason left Southern California to go serve in the military overseas. I was glad to have him back home even for just a little bit before he heads off again, this time to Asia.
Warning: The video contains some adult language in it, so please keep that in mind before viewing.
Player: Jason Lee (DXL Crew, yoyofactory)

I filmed this video for RecRev a couple weeks ago. Finally had a chance to piece it together. This place was a pain to get to but worth it. Featuring RecRev team members Kalani Bergdorf, Alex Kim, and Anthony Rojas. Hope you enjoy it.
Here’s a short promo video I put together for the DXL Battle Championships 2010 which will be held next month on August 21. All the players featured in the video are members of The DXL Crew. The contest is shaping up to be a big one. We’re even expecting international players this year! Go to http://www.dxlbattle.com for all the current info.
Houdini Z hop
Yes i did say Kamikaze mount cause thats what i usually call it but i guess it is defined as a houdini mount. Houdini Pop over Fake GT undercuts drop hops whatever you’ll get into something you don’t usually try.
With the raw Ministars yo-yos finally available, fresh off the CNC lathe, Ernie of General Yo had a meeting at his house to celebrate it’s release. I put together a small video showcasing many of the new players (as well as a few old school players) all using the new Ministar yo-yo. It’s great to see so many new faces that are getting into yo-yoing. Thanks again to Ernie for the invitation and the kick-ass mini yo-yo.
Here are two videos from yesterday’s event. The first one is Jensen Kimmit’s $1,000 winning freestyle. The second is of DXL Crew member Paul Han’s badass freestyle. Be sure to look for the rest of the freestyles on Sector Y in the next week or so.
This past Halloween I met up with a few of the guys from RecRev and we shot this video featuring the new yo-yo i. The i is the smoothest yo-yo that Alex has made up to date. Of the samples that he had with him, most had absolutely no vibe and felt good to throw. Pick one up if you have a chance, they should be shipping to retailers in about two weeks.
A reporter from dailypilot.com came out to the Duncan 80th Anniversary Tour demo at the Puzzle Zoo in South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA on October 13, 2009. He created this video which was featured on the website. Here is a link to the original page: dailypilot.com
