Yeah, I know, it’s been a while. I’ve run into some problems lately in trying to keep THEGLASSLAB.COM up for your benefit. Long story, told too many times so let’s move on. I’ve got some great updates for you today…

First, there is now a section for Doctor Popular’s videos in the Large Videos section. Please check out his first (and hopefully not his last) series of contributions to the site. I’m also currently working on a HUGE video with Doctor Popular featuring the underground, underwater, and extra-stellar stylings of Doc. I’m a little more than half done with it, so I hope to have it up in two weeks.

Second update is that THEGLASSLAB.COM will be joing the RPM Project in the next week or two. This is going to be an exciting step for THEGLASSLAB.COM. Together with the other sites in the RPM Project, we hope to bring you the best resource for learning and interacting with others on the internet. Thanks for your patience through this transition period.

All the videos in the Large Videos section are now available in MPEG format. If you’ve had trouble viewing any of the large videos in the past, try downloading the MPEG versions. If I find the time, I’ll try to put copies of the trick videos in MPEG format as well.

Lastly, go buy one of Sircull’s shirt designs over at http://www.cafepress.com/esplacebo. He did a really great job on the shirts so go support your fellow yoer!

Two new sections have been added to the Trick Videos section. There is now a Ball Juggling section which has videos of Kwijibo doing a grip of 3-ball patterns including Mills Mess. I’ve also added an A.D.D. section! Huh? Whut? Why an A.D.D. section? To honor my favorite yo-yo player with A.D.D. – Jason Lee! Jason spends his weekdays hanging with his A.D.D. friends at his A.D.D. school creating all sorts of A.D.D. tricks. A few weeks ago at our local crew gathering, we realized that many of us have created our own A.D.D. tricks at one time or another. It was then that we understood that this new style of yo-yoing must be embraced, not scorned. Now the question arises… Who’s down with A.D.D.?

The large videos are back online! Many thanks to the good people at Duncan for taking an interest in the glass lab and helping to keep this site up and running. Be on the lookout for the release of new videos and possibly a limited edition glasslab freehand in the upcoming weeks!

Word has it that a certain Doctor, whom I understand is very Popular, has been snooping around the laboratory as of late. Keep your eyes open, you never know what kind of bizzare experiments may happen when a maniacal doctor meets a one-eyed webmaster.

In other news, things are currently being worked out between THEGLASSLAB.COM and Duncan Toys to bring back the videos you all know and love. Look for them to be accessible within the next day or two.

Citadel posted the top three freestyles in each division from the Golden Apple Contest at Sector Y! So if you’ve been wanting to check out the Glowstick or Photon videos you can download them there. They’re the same freestyles I recorded, just from a different angle. Citadel’s videos are also brighter so you can see more details than the ones here (I was trying to match the true to life brightness of the room). If you’ve already seen those videos, definitely check out the freestyles of Patrick Mitchell and Gary Longoria. Gary’s Gonzo freestyle is mind blowing too.

I just checked the access logs to The Glass Lab and I’m already over the 20GB traffic limit for this month! It looks like most of the traffic is coming from the Experiment videos and also from James’ Glowstick video. I had to restrict access to the these videos cause I can’t afford to pay more fines this month and I don’t want to give my webhost another reason to shut me down again. If you have downloaded any of the videos and don’t mind sharing, please post up an ftp or url in the discussion forums. I’ll try to finalize things for the new webspace this week so you can have access to all the videos again. If you’re waiting for the big videos, check back later this week or next week and hopefully I’ll have everything resolved. Thanks for visiting!

If you haven’t guessed, I’m back. My webhost pulled the plug on the site yesterday a couple of hours after I payed for the traffic fines for February. How these people get away operating like this? I don’t have a clue. I had to send a few nasty e-mails and ask them why I was being shut down when their first warning said I had till next Tuesday to pay. Anyways, my highest priority right now is making sure this doesn’t happen again. I’ve been offered serveral options so I’ll be spending the next week or so exploring the opportunities. In the meantime, enjoy the site, I’ve added more videos to the “Trick Videos” section so check em out. Some of the videos were taken from the Experiment #3 video, but there are many new ones from Kalani and Ashkahn.
