Steve giving Craig a haircutI woke up to a phone call last night from Cappy. He told me the news that a mutual friend of ours, Craig Winberg, had passed away from his bout with cancer. Craig was a great person to be admired. No matter how bad things got, he always kept his cool and never lost his sense of humor. When he found out that he had to start treatments, he decided to have a little fun and have Steve Brown and Mark McBride cut his hair. Craig gave me these pictures last year after our trip to the Nationals. My condolences go out to his family and to those who knew and loved him.

Felix's Mom!Last week some of the So Cali DXL Crew met at the beach to have a bonfire for my birthday. Sib and I took pictures on this momentous occassion. By the way, see the girl on the lower right in this picture? That’s Felix’s mom. Cute, huh? Hahaha just playin’ Felix. Anyways, it was freezing cold but we still had a good time listening to Camp Counselor Gallagher (aka Zangief!) drop some knowledge on life as well as watching him do an amazing suplex on Jason Lee’s fragile body. Pictures are here.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one thing. This weekend Jason Lee busted out with a bunch of new tricks and combos he’s been working on for the worlds…

… you’ll be left speechless too.

So what kinds of horrifying things happened to me on Friday the 13th? Well, nothing. In fact, it was a good day. When I got home, there was a package from Duncan waiting for me which contained a Bionic Freehand. For those that missed Yo-Nate’s post on the board, a Bionic Freehand is a Freehand made out of the silver bearing king plastic. SWANK!!!! Then I sat down to play Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2 that my beautiful fiancee had bought me for my birthday. So all in all, Friday was a perfectly nice day. If any day over the weekend was unlucky, it was Saturday the 14th. Let’s just say that glasseye almost became known as “glasseyes” when I took a regenerating Freehand into my good eye. I’ve never felt a pain that intense before. Worse than listening to a Puff Daddy record. Ahem. So as I was saying, Friday the 13th = good, Saturday the 14th = bad. I talked to Steve this morning and on Saturday he had a little car trouble. Basically he was driving on two wheels because a car slammed into the side of his vehicle popping it up onto two wheels. Do you see a pattern here? Don’t worry about Steve, America’s favorite yo-yo player and his wife are doing fine. Hey, I just realized that my fiancee lost her voice on Saturday too! This is unsettling! Beware Saturday the 14th! Beware!

So I’m sitting here on Friday the 13th, waiting for my ride to come pick me up from work and I’m bored as heck. So I start wondering how the number 13 got such a bad rap. What’s the dealio? Well, if anything strange and unusual happens, I’ll let you know next week. Now where the heck is my ride??? Dum dee dum dee dum. Well, I’ve been couped up in the office for too long. I’m gonna go wait outside now. I’ll try to have a real update soon. Have a spintastico weekend. Oh yeah, Duncan rules.

So it’s been a while. I’ve been busy dealing moving into a new place. Got tired of throwing money away at rent and figured it was time to buy a place of my own. Before I go any further, just gotta say thanks to Felix and James for helping me move. Without them, I’d be recovering in a hospital right now from a hernia or something similar. No joke! Anyways, watch out for these two at the worlds!!! Felix has been showing me some of the mad crazy stuff he’s planning to do in the X-division and it’s insane. He’ll probably take the expert division in tops too although Hornbeck and Bazan are going to be tough to beat. James Lac has been coming up with some killer tricks too for his single A freestyle and I’m sure he’ll tear it up if he makes it past compulsories.

Dayamn, the single-A division is going to be killer. From the Double XL Crew alone we’re going to have Jason Lee, James Lac, Mark Montgomery, Spencer Berry, and possibly Ashkahn all shooting for that top spot. I’d die a happy man if I got to see them all go head to head in freestyles.

Anyways, I got a call from Bazan a couple weeks ago and he asked me to help him run and spread the word for some auctions to help raise money for that Potato Chip John Hornbeck. Now I’ll promise you this, get him to the worlds and he’ll make you laugh your booty off. Seriously. Don’t believe me? Go download his BAC spintop freestyle in the Large Videos section if you haven’t already. Just looking at him makes me laugh. Nothin but love for ya John!!! Anyways, I’ll be posting up some rare Spintastics stuff on E-bay soon so come back here for the details a little later, aaaiiiiiiggghhhhttt?
