DXL Crew and Team Others Unite
That’s right, the DXL Crew and Team Others have formed an alliance. Why? TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION!!!! Well, that and we have the highest respect for each other and we always end up kicking it together at contests. At the 2002 Worlds in Orlando, Taka (Leader of Team Others) mentioned that he wanted the DXL Crew and Team Others to unite. So I talked it over with some of the other members of the crew and we were all for it. At the Y3A contest in Las Vegas I created some DXL/Team Others pogs for the new Freehand. I gave them to all the members of Team Others as gifts and a new alliance was born. To all DXL Crew members who want pogs, bribe me or give me a buck to help cover costs and I’ll bring them to Nationals.

I also wanted to congratulate DXL Crew member Mark Montgomery for winning the Y3A Worlds Contest in the A-division this past weekend. If you haven’t heard, the kid beatboxed his own freestyle music. Represent! Speaking of represent… Doc Pop, Big Rick, and Outch tore it up onstage with the lyrical quickness. Props.

Just got back from the 2002 Worlds. Dayumn!!!! That was one great contest. Almost every person I met was down to chill with the crew. I love our community. Well, I’m a bit motivated to get things moving on theglasslab.com again so you may be seeing a few more updates soon. First let’s start with:

Yuuki Spencer’s single A freestyle

Just about everyone in the room had to pick up their jaws up off of the floor after his freestyle so I think this is a great way to start the first of hopefully many more glasslab.com updates. Before I end this update, some props need to go out… Greg Cohen, thanks for all your hard work. You’ve done many tremendous things for the yo-yo community and you deserve more thanks than you get. Thanks for making this year’s contest my favorite of all time. Steve Brown and Mike Burke… thanks for making Duncan a kick ass company with the most badass productline around. Oh and if you were wondering… yes, it is your obligation to make the monkey skatedecks. Jeff Savell, thanks for hooking up the crew with some gear to show off at the contest. Can’t wait for the next series of Fakies to come out! Bride, the AAA throwdown and the After Effects workshop rocked. Nice job kid. Team Others, you guys are off the hook! Can’t wait to see you guys at Y3A! Heheheheh… Team others and the DXL Crew have something up our sleeves! To my boys and girls, the DXL Crew. You guys made all the money and planning headaches worth it. I LOVE YOU GUYS! To all the crazy peeps at the contest… thanks for the good times. All you Texas and Arizona hoods… the boys from Massachussets, and everyone else who came out to represent… much love and respect. Last but not least, to my wife Sib… thanks for coming to Orlando with me and especially for your enduring patience! I hope you had fun. I love you!
