We had a good turnout yesterday at the local DXL Crew meet. Paul Yath of Born Crucial brought his portable lathe and we had some fun modding some FHZs. Ernie from General Yo-Yo also dropped by to hang out and gave us tips on how to properly use the lathe. For those of you who have been wanting a grindable 5-Star, you’ll be happy to know that Ernie is planning on doing another run of 5-Stars in a bead-blasted finish.
We also got to try out Paul’s new baby, the Born Crucial Cream which is basically an undersized version of the popular Milk. I took some comparison pics next to a Milk (left side).
You’ll notice the spacers have been reworked using a smaller diameter. The new system also no longer needs O-rings underneath the spacers. The pic below shows the response using an O-ring, but a pad recess spacer will also be available. The final production run will use a custom blue silicon response O-ring. Pretty damn dope.
The first run of Creams will be available in black or white delrin and will be shipped off to retailers in the next week or two.
I’d also like to officially announce the DXL Battle Championships which will be held on June 20th, 2009 at The Lab in Costa Mesa, California. It is going to be Epic so start planning on being there. We’ll also be planning a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm on June 18th and a DXL Crew BBQ on June 19th so there will be plenty of other things to do besides the contest. I’ll be putting up a website when I get more information but save the date.
