Duncan Freehand Z-Prototype - glasseye
Duncan Freehand Z-Prototype This is the third of three prototypes hereafter to be referred to as the Z-Protoype. The Z-Prototype was donated by Duncan Toys to help get Jason Lee to the 2001 World Yo-Yo Contest. I've confirmed with Steve Brown that less than 30 of these were made and less than 20 left the factory. The yo-yo halves are made from a deep transulcent blue polycarb and the sidecaps are made from yellow polycarb. In normal light, the yo-yo is actually much darker and looks almost as if it is black.

The Z-Prototype uses a raised disc with positive starbursts for it's return system, similar to the starburst pattern currently being used on the Duncan Ballistics and Avengers. (Click on the picture to the left for a close-up). Note: The Z-Prototype yo-yo is actually much darker than it appears in the photo. I used an extremely bright light to allow the starburst pattern to be more visible.
